Hi everyone, YAY it's Friday! I couldn't be more happier that it's Friday and I get to leave early :) We are supposed to have a big winter storm today, starting this afternoon, with 3 to 7 inches of snow expected. The hubby and I don't have any spectacular plans this weekend. We are seeing the second Hobbit movie tomorrow and he is so excited he might blow a gasket. Admittedly I didn't like the first one at all so maybe this one will be better?
Today I have my recreation of an ugly Christmas sweater. I don't own an ugly Christmas sweater but my sister does and she's been wearing it on Christmas Eve for the last two years. It's like a giant grandma cardigan with all sorts of Christmas appliques. This year I bought a shirt online to wear for Christmas Eve. It's got two Christmas cats on it....to be fair it's not awful considering I got it from American Eagle. My sister and I also have the tradition of wearing funny hats on Christmas Eve. I always wear the Santa hat and she has a striped elf hat. I'm pretty sure we've been doing that for at least a decade!
To create this look, I started with a base of OPI First Date at the Golden Gate, which is a warmer orangy red. For my thumb and ring finger, I used Zoya Hunter and China Glaze Fairy Dust to create the green distressed look and then used Essie Licorice and a nail art brush to draw half snowflakes. For the ugly reindeer I used a nail art brush with OPI Skull and Glossbones and Essie Licorice for the outlines.
I would love to know....do you own an ugly Christmas sweater? If you do, describe it in the comments :)
