Paint Shop Polish: Mr. Grinch and Cupid (Winter Collection)

*Press Samples
Hi everyone, welcome to Tuesday.  I hope your week is going well.  I was a very unproductive human being yesterday so I really have nothing new to report.  I went home from work, watched Flashpoint on Netflix (which I am loving by the way), and did my nails.  There was also a nap and multiple kitty snuggles involved :)  This week is basically my week before the holidays so I'm not really into working, cleaning, etc. ;)

Today I have a new to me Indie brand called Paint Shop Polish.  Let me tell you....this brand was amazing.  Paint Shop Polish is made by Candi in Pennsylvania and she was kind enough to send me two polishes for review.  Both polishes come from the Winter Collection.  These polishes looked nice in the bottle, but on the nail, they came alive!

Mr. Grinch

First up is Mr. Grinch, which is a glitter topper in a clear base.  I loved this polish right off the bat because I automatically like anything related to the Grinch.  My Christmas Eve pjs are even Grinch themed this year.  Anyways, Mr. Grinch consists of white snowflake glitters, green holo glitters in various sizes, and green flakies.  This polish has so much depth!

For my swatches, I used one coat of Mr. Grinch over the plain black, Essie Licorice.  This polish just glows over black and the green really comes to life.  I really love the addition of the green flakies which almost have a deep green color to them.  The snowflakes did require digging and I found it best to put the polish upside down and then fish the snowflakes out.

Here's an up close shot of Mr. Grinch.

Cupid

My second polish is named Cupid, for one of Santa's reindeer.   Although named for a reindeer, this polish was like liquid Opal in a bottle.  Cupid is a sheer ice blue polish with purple undertones.  I wanted show Cupid two ways to show off how versatile it can be.

On my thumb and ring finger is Cupid on its own.  The formula was sheer but built up nicely to cover the nail in three coats.  This is the "liquid opal" look I was talking about.  It's stunning and I've never seen anything like it.  Swatches are without topcoat.

For the second look, I layered one coat of Cupid over a plain black, Essie Licorice.  I couldn't believe how much it transformed the black.  The look was metallic, shimmery, and frosty all at the same time.  Love it!

Here's a macro of Cupid.

Overall I was so impressed by Paint Shop Polish.  I am seriously thinking of including both of these in my upcoming Favorite Polishes of the Year post.  These are some of the coolest and unique polishes and they really are something special.

Full size bottles sell for $8 and minis for $4.  You can find Paint Shop Polish on Etsy here.

*These polishes were sent for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
