Hi everyone, today I have a really special post. I have a comprehensive stamping plate review from Vivid Lacquer. I was asked to create a corresponding mani for all of the images on the plate and I wanted to take the challenge head on and create something very different for each image. I am really excited with all of the different stamping manis I created as I haven't stamped in many months. Today is my first of three stamping plates that I received.Right off the bat I wanted to show off my favorite of the manis that I created and I will get into details of the plate further below. For the snowflake image, I started off with a base of China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around and an accent nail of OPI Solitaire. I stamped my snowflakes in blue with OPI Dining Al Frisco and finished with some glitter in OPI Which is Witch? I think the snowflakes are so versatile and I can't wait to try different color combinations.
Below are some pictures to show off the stamping plate. The plate came with nine distinct images and they are the largest stamping images I've seen. The images included a peacock feather, little peacock pattern, chevron and bent stripes, rain with clouds, a hummingbird, a chevron striped full size image, a large dandelion, snowflakes, and a small dandelion design.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of the back. Not only was the back covered which makes the plate nice and smooth and not sharp, but there's cats.....cats! I have three cats so of course I love cat designs :)
Below is a sample of each pattern stamped on a piece of paper with Essie Go Overboard. As you can see, the images didn't fit on my little circle stamper because of how big they are. The size of the images was great because traditional stamping images don't fit on my thumb because they are too small. Any imperfections are purely user error by the way! The only image that gave me a bit of a fuss was the raincloud but that was only if I swiped downward to remove the polish. Once I switched to swiping the polish sideways it worked just fine.
For the dandelions I wanted to create a wispy dandelion color for the background so I started with a base of Essie Playa del Platinum and then swiped on freehand stripes of OPI Its Totally Fort Worth It. For the color I chose Essie Go Overboard and used both the small and large dandelion images. The small image has some little wispies so I added that to a few of the fingers to give it move movement.
Okay, I guess I don't have a favorite mani because I love this one too :) The peacock design was started with a base of Zoya Rocky and an accent nail of Zoya Giovanna. For the large peacock feather I stamped with OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw (ISUSWSW). For the gradient peacock pattern I used OPI ISUSWSW, Zoya Giovanna, and OPI Plugged-in Plum.
For the striped chevron pattern, I started with a base of OPI Alcatraz Rocks with topcoat. My accent nail was OPI Which is Witch? and I stamped with Essie No Place Like Chrome. I wanted to do something a little funky so I made the pattern off-kilter on each of my nails.
For the rainclouds I started with a base of Zoya Blu and stamped with OPI Incognito in Sausalito.
For the hummingbird image I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff and did glitter tips with Daring Digits Mix My Matte Up. I stamped the hummingbird with OPI Red Lights Ahead Where?, OPI Plugged-in Plum, Essie Go Overboard, and OPI Dutch Tulips.
Okay maybe the next one is my favorite? For the chevron stripes I started with a base of Essie Wrapped in Rubies. I stamped....again....with Essie Go Overboard.
I was really impressed with this stamping plate. I loved how large the images were and how crisp and detailed they were. This plate has a ton of versatility and I can't wait to try out other looks! Vivid Lacquer is available through etsy here and the plate retails for $8.00.
